Kia Sorento 2014

I have to be honest here and say that I always thought that kia’s were kind of toy cars. You know cheap in price and therefore cheaply made. That was until I got to test drive the 2014 Kia Sorento. There are so many things that I liked that I can’t wait to tell you all of them. As you know I have a family of 6, so trying to find a car that would fit us all has been a challenge. My husband refuses to get a mini van so that has limited our choices, but the Kia Sorento seats 7! So when we were driving this car I couldn’t help but dream of the day we would own one!

This picture shows you where all the speakers are. I love the sound system in the Sorento. My daughter is 11 and hates sitting in the back of the car because she can never hear the radio. With the option of a third row, we wanted to try it out right away. My daughter had so much fun back there. Not only could she heat the radio but she also had vents in the back to get some of the AC as well. She didn’t have to wait for it to get from the front of the car to the back of the car.  The back seat is just as comfortable as the front in the Sorento.

This picture also shows you the third row. To be honest there really isn’t a whole lot of leg room in the back, but it is perfect for the kids. If you don’t need that third row it easily folds down to give you a lot of trunk space for storing whatever you like. If both seats are up in the third row however, there is no trunk space at all. I don’t know if I would be able to make the Sorento work if I had a family of 7. But as it stands now it’s perfect.

One of the greatest features for me was the built-in GPS. Before I got my gps for my car I didn’t go anywhere on my own. I hate getting lost. The fear of getting lost would keep me from going to places. But with this GPS it was easy to work and got me to and from where I wanted to go. I was able to avoid traffic and select a different route. It also comes with the option of  Sirius radio. Not having to listen to the same old same old was so great. One of the other features I loved that you can use on this same screen was the reverse camera. With 4 kids at home 3 of them being on the younger side I always worry when I back out of a packing spot. Being able to see behind me was great. I loved it the most at the store when I had to watch myself and OTHER people at the same time. It was perfect.

I wanted to get pictures but my camera wasn’t working at the time. This is the best picture I could find of the amazing panoramic sunroof. It is so nice to have nearly the whole roof open up and let the light in. The kids thought it was the coolest thing. I wish I would have had the chance to drive it at night on the 4th of July. I’m sure that would have been amazing.

There are a lot of other little features that I loved like the  cooled seats, the leather seats, the blind spot warning to name just a few. I would go on and on about the Sorento and how much I love it!

  1. There was a time many years ago when I thought that Kias were inexpensive looking cars. But not anymore! That is one hot, sexy, beautiful automobile! I would love to drive one of those even for just one day.

  2. This seems to be a perfect sized vehicle when the kids are younger. But once they get a little bigger and legs a little longer, won’t the limited leg room start to be an issue? Also, is there much room in back for storage/luggage if third row is being used?
